West Ham winger Dimitri Payet has been ruled out of action for three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton on Saturday.
The former Marseille man, who signed for the Hammers this summer and has been one of the stars of the Premier League season so far, was an enforced substitution at Goodison Park when James McCarthy brought him down early in the second half.
"West Ham United can confirm that midfielder Payet suffered an injury to his left ankle during Saturday's game with Everton," the club said in a statement on Monday.
"The France international had a scan on Sunday and after a consultation with a specialist on Monday, it is likely that he will be ruled out of action for three months.
Payet has scored five goals and bagged three assists in 12 league appearances for Slaven Bilic's men in 2015-16.
