Ruled out: Aaron Ramsey suffers hamstring injury

The Arsenal midfielder pulled up after attempting to close down David Alaba and was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after 57 minutes of the win over Bayern Munich

Aaron Ramsey is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in Arsenal's win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The Welsh midfielder was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 10 minutes into the second half after pulling up as he attempted to close down David Alaba, with the 24-year-old immediately clutching his hamstring in clear discomfort.

Speaking to reporters after the match, that the Gunners won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil, manager Arsene Wenger said: "He's alright but very down. He told me he injured his hamstring. It's quite a tough one."

Losing Ramsey for a prolonged period would come as a big blow to Wenger's side, with the Gunners facing Everton in the Premier League on the weekend before away fixtures against Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City.

Arsenal then face Bayern Munich away from home in the Champions League before the north London derby against Tottenham in the Premier League on November 8. (GOAL)
