Uefa launch proceeds against 'racist behaviour' in Dynamo-Chelsea game

The European football governing body have begun to assess the disciplinary issues following the Ukrainian club's match with Chelsea

Uefa have opened disciplinary proceedings against Dynamo Kyiv for 'racist behaviour' and other incidents that took place during the 0-0 Champions League draw with Chelsea on Tuesday.

European football's governing body have levied charges against the Ukrainian champions for racist behaviour, in accordance with article 14 of their disciplinary regulations, as well as probing crowd disturbances and blocked stairways during the match with Jose Mourinho's side.

The Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will deliver their verdict on the case following a session on October 27.

A statement on the organisation's website read: "Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League group stage match between FC Dynamo Kyiv and Chelsea FC (0-0) played on 20 October in Ukraine."

While Uefa haven't confirmed exactly what they are investigating, footage of an incident obtained by the anti-discrimination network Fare appears to show several Dynamo fans attacking four black men seated near them inside the Olimpiyskiy Stadium.

Other fans appeared to join in the attack when the men, who were supporting Dynamo themselves, tried to escape.

The match between Dynamo and Chelsea ended in a 0-0 stalemate following an even contest in Kiev.
