The head coach of the Stallions has predicted a close contest against the Super Eagles in Port Harcourt on Saturday
Idrissa Traore, head coach of the visiting Burkina Faso team, has stated that they are not afraid of Nigeria and that they are expecting to give the Super Eagles team a good run for their money in the first leg of the 2016 CHAN qualifier in Port Harcourt.
The Stallions got to Port Harcourt on Thursday night and had a feel of the stadium pitch on Friday from 4pm to 6pm where they trained.
Traore who spoke through an interpreter told Goal that they have come to Nigeria to try and record a satisfactory result that would make the second leg in Ouagadougou more appealing to them as they strive to eliminate the Eagles.
He said that he is confident of his team’s chances and that having beaten Nigeria during the All Africa Games in Congo last month, it won’t be any surprise if they beat them again in Port Harcourt on Saturday. (GOAL)
“We are in Nigeria to get a good result that will help us ahead of the second leg. We are not afraid of Nigeria and we believe we have the players to beat them even in Port Harcourt. We defeated them at the All Africa Games and it won’t be any difference beating them again.
“We have our players on ground and we have come with some of the players that beat Nigeria in Congo including Mohammed Sylla who was the highest scorer in Congo. We are glad that he was released for this match,” Traore told Goal.
