The Port Harcourt come into this game in a cheerful mood after silencing Warri Wolves 2-1 on Saturday – a result that moved them from the relegation zone.
Festus Allen’s team are out of the bottom three on goal difference only, and they will be desperately chasing a win against the Akure side..
Sunshine Stars sit just a point adrift of first-placed Enyimba after their 1-0 defeat at FC Taraba on Sunday – with Kunle Odunlami the culprit for the goal conceded by the Akure Gunners.
The hosts face a huge battle to emerge as league champions , but coach Kennedy Boboye is confident they have what it takes.
“Our target now is to secure a win against Sharks at home and there we travel to Ifeanyi Ubah FC where we hope to get things right,” he said.
“Definitely, we are still in contention. We were topping the league on goal difference and now we are behind the leaders [Enyimba] with a point.
“Hopefully if they falter in their next game while we win, we will reclaim the leadership position,” he concluded.
The first leg ended 0-0 in Port Harcourt.
