ODIETE: VICTORY WILL RELIEVE PRESSURE ON FC TARABA

The Jalingo based outfit defeated Sunshine Stars on Sunday, and their media officer believes that will help them concentrate on how to escape relegation

FC Taraba media officer, Martin Odiete has revealed that their 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars on Sunday evening is a great tonic to ease the enormous tension on Jalingo based team.

Going into the game against the Akure Gunners, Ndubuisi Nduka’s men could only boast of two wins in the Nigeria topflight – a feat that kept them at the base of the log.

And the club’s spokesman feels the players are now energized to move away from the relegation zone.

“The victory against Sunshine Stars is a morale booster for us because it has proven to us that every team in the league is beatable,” Odiete said.

“Our intention now is to win other games so that we avoid the drop at the end of the season , which I believe we can.

“The presence of coach Ndubuisi Nduka is a great motivation for the boys and they are hoping to continue their winning streak.”

He also denied reports in the media that the management of the club was served a notification to pay their players’ salary or risk being sanctioned.

“We never go anything like that from the LMC , but I can tell you that they process of ensuring our players get some of their outstanding salary is on,” he informed.

Despite their win, FC Taraba remain at the foot of the Nigeria Professional Football League table with 16 points from 20 games, and they face Enugu Rangers on Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.
