Marotta: Hernanes is a Juventus player

The Brazilian midfielder has been a late pursuit for the Bianconeri, who lost out to Wolfsburg on the signing Julian Draxler

Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that Hernanes is on the brink of signing from Serie A rivals Inter.

The 30-year-old has been a last-minute target for the Bianconeri, who watched their top creative midfield target Julian Draxler join Wolfsburg on Monday.

With Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal having been sold to New York City and Bayern Munich respectively this summer, the Scudetto holders were in dire need of a proven midfielder to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer window's closure.

Reports in Italy suggested Hernanes was set to sign a three-year deal with Massimiliano Allegri's men, and Marotta stated the Nerazzurri will be paid €11 million by Juve for the Brazilian's services.

"It's all completed now," he told FCInterNews shortly before the Serie A deadline day slammed shut at midnight on Monday. "Hernanes is a Juventus player. He's coming to Juve for €11m."

Juventus then tweeted out photos on Hernanes with the caption: "Hernanes is in Turin where he is having his medical."

Hernanes spent a season and a half as an Inter player having signed from Lazio for €18m in January 2014.

He will hope to help arrest a shock start to the season for the Bianconeri, who have lost back-to-back matches in Serie A to be placed 17th after two games. [GOAL]
