The midfielder feels with the depth of quality in his Baku based outfit, they stand a chance of making securing a ticket to feature in next season’s European club championship

Zire FC new signing Kayode Igbekoyi is optimistic that his side are capable of qualifying for the 2016/2017 Uefa Champions League as the Azerbaijan Premier League commences on Saturday.

The former AZAL FC star is impressed with his club management for fortifying the squad with quality players – and he believes with that, his side can compete for a place in Europe club competition next season.

"I'm happy to be a part of this wonderful club and I hope to win trophies with them but the ultimate target is to emerge as league champions and also qualify for the Uefa Champions League,” Igbekoyi said.

"We are back in Azerbaijan to finalise our preparations for the start of the league after completing our training tour of Turkey.

"I am fit and ready for the season’s challenge with my teammates and with the quality at our disposal, we will not fail in our bid to secure a ticket in Europe,” he concluded.

Igbekoyi is expected to feature against his former team, AZAL FC at the ZirÉ™ Olympic Sport Complex Stadium.
